Beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, Minister Daniel “Dan” Michael Jones peacefully made his transition to eternal life on Friday, September 1, 2023 at the age of 74 years. He was born January 18,1949 in New Castle, Indiana to Joyce May and Ralph Benjamin Jones. Dan attended Knightstown High School and later worked in the construction trade. Dan ultimately became his own boss as a business owner and created many beautiful, sturdy structures for his happy customers.
Dan joined Alice Ann Fidler in Holy Matrimony on Saturday, October 26, 1985 and they were just shy of celebrating their 38th wedding anniversary. Dan enjoyed camping, fishing and he loved preaching God’s Word and witnessing to others. One of Dan’s favorite places to vacation was at Kentucky Dam Village with Alice. Dan also enjoyed watching the good old classic westerns, such as Gunsmoke, Laramie, Rawhide, Wagon Train, and Bonanza. Dan liked Traditional and Contemporary Christian music. Dan wasn’t particularly fond of any type of specific food with the exception of fresh fish, that being the fresh fish he caught. Of all of his pets, Skunk” the cat was his favorite. Dan had a love of people and was described as being the “perfect best friend “. He was proud to serve his Lord and Savior as the Pastor of the Shirley Church of the Nazarene and served as the Minister for 18 years. Dan was a loving character who would at times use his “pointer finger “ to get his message across. The message that most will remember about Dan was he loved spending time with his family and friends. He was loved immensely and will be missed by all the lives he touched.
