Ace Mills Obituary

Ace Mills, the beautiful Goldendoodle boy of Alyssa McComas and Sam Mills of Selma, Indiana, unexpectedly passed over the Rainbow Bridge on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, after a tragic accident.

Ace was born Thursday, November 2, 2023, in Muncie, Indiana.

Alyssa and Sam chose to give little Ace a loving home. Alyssa and Sam were so excited to bring this sweet little baby boy home to join the family.

The day they adopted him and brought him home for the first time to become a part of the family, he instantly fit in and became a “big” little brother, joining his fur sibling, Chip, the Yorkie.

Shortly thereafter, Alyssa became gravely ill. After months of being hospitalized, she was sent home to recover. After being released from the hospital, Alyssa decided to get another Goldendoodle pup in celebration of her being on the road to recovery. Puppies are a wonderful source of inspiration and support during recovery and offer unconditional love. Finnley the pup joined the family, and Ace happily welcomed his new sibling and gained a new best friend.

Alyssa shared what she and Sam loved most about Ace was his "unique, human-like eyes that made you feel like he understood every word you said to him and his loving and cuddly personality."

Ace was the best boy. Alyssa shared, “He loved bath time and would just sit there and let you wash him,” adding, “Grooming was a piece of cake as long as you gave him kisses; he was good with it.”

Ace enjoyed munching on his favorite treats of Cheez-Its and loved going on car rides. He would happily stick his head out the car window. He knew that they were headed for a walk.

Ace’s favorite toy was his squeaky toy chicken. He bit the head off it, but that didn’t matter to Ace. Alyssa recalled how he carried it around with him from the age of eight weeks, when it was bigger than he was, up until the night before he crossed over the Rainbow Bridge.

Alyssa shared that their favorite memory of Ace was when they walked into the living room and he was lying like a human on the couch with his head on the pillow.

Alyssa recalled how she and Sam will never forget how Ace would constantly grab their shoes and put all of them up on the couch, but he would never chew them up.

She also fondly remembered how he would jump up on them in excitement when they got home.

Alyssa felt what Ace valued the most in his life was his fur brothers, relaying that “they had a bond that was unbreakable,” and he also valued “spending every second he could with us.”

Ace had a close relationship with his favorite person, his daddy Sam. According to Alyssa, “He was attached to his daddy more than anyone else; he loved his daddy.”

Alyssa and Sam lovingly referred to their sweet Ace by the nicknames of “Acey Boy” and “Acey Baby.”

Although their time with Ace was limited, his sweet memory will last forever. Alyssa shared her sweet sentiments. “Acey boy, Mommy, Daddy, and your brothers miss you more than words could ever describe.”

In addition to his Alyssa and Sam, he was deeply loved and will be missed by his human grandparents, Nana and Papaw Mills and Nina and Papa Riggins. Also mourning the loss of Ace are his fur siblings and best friends, Chip the Yorkie and Finnley the Goldendoodle.
