Barbara Joan (Ferrell) Froman-Milligan

Barbara Joan (Ferrell) Froman-Milligan, age 87, daughter of Walter Holt and Vida (Estelle) Ferrell passed away peacefully in early morning on June 30th, 2021. Barbara was born on November 1, 1933. She married her high school sweetheart Robert Owen Froman in August of 1953 and together raised their 4 children in Greenfield, Indiana; Steven Froman (Rita) of Rushville, Indiana, Terri Kline of Monticello, Indiana, Sharon Alexander of Georgetown, Kentucky and Brian Froman (Debbie) of Wilkinson, Indiana. Robert passed away in May of 2004 after a very brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Together they have 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandson. God blessed them with 52 years of marriage.
  Barbara was a long standing member of Monticello Christian Church, loved to sing in the church choir and lived a life of Christian service in many quiet and beautiful ways including an incredible card ministry that touched many. Barbara loved her Lord deeply and walked in the obedience of scripture as she led her children and grandchildren. She was an incredible cook and will especially be remembered by her warm zucchini and banana breads fresh from the oven. Family meal time was extremely important as she led and directed by example the art of cooking and serving. She worked over 20 years in the Hancock County Court Clerks Office. Upon retirement from Eli Lily, Bob and Barbara moved to Monticello, Indiana where they enjoyed the peacefulness of Lake Freeman until Bob's sudden death in 2004.
      In February of 2008, Barbara married James Milligan, a life long White County resident and member of Monticello Christian Church as well as a faithful choir member. Barbara and Jim celebrated 13 years of shared life and so enjoyed their opportunity for late-life love, a blessing they always acknowledged. Together they shared the blessing of Jim’s 6 children, 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Love and good food was always the center of family gatherings.
    Barbara will be missed beyond words. We are grateful for Gods love, restoration and healing power. Our God almighty remains sovereign over all....and life is worth the living.....”Just because He Lives”!
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2021 from 11am-1pm with Funeral Service to follow at Miller-Roscka Funeral Home located at 6368 E. U.S. 24. Monticello, Indiana 47960. The service will be officiated by Reverend Chris Dodson and Reverend Benji Riddle. Burial to follow at Riverview Cemetery in Monticello, Indiana.
