Bear Spaulding Obituary

Bear Spaulding, of Upland, Indiana, a black and brown tabby boy belonging to Devin Spaulding, passed over the Rainbow Bridge on Saturday, November 8, 2025.

Devin rescued Bear in 2020 from a life of being a barn cat. Devin described Bear as “very chill and sweet.” When Devin first got Bear, he was somewhat of an elusive boy. Devin relayed, “When I first got him, he hid from me for, like, two days, and I ended up finding him way up under a car I had in the shop.”

Once he got accustomed to the kindness that Devin showed him, he began to trust people and allowed them to pet him. In fact, Bear became such a friendly boy he liked everyone who was willing to take the time to pet him.

Devin’s favorite memory of Bear was how he was “always annoying my customers, meowing for scratches.”

Devin recalled one thing he loved most about Bear was “When I got him, he had really big muscular jaws and neck.”

Devin jokingly shared the one thing that Bear valued the most in this world was food. His favorite treat was specifically canned cat food.  Devin loved Bear, also known affectionately as “Bear Bear,” with all of his heart and loved every second he got to spend with his sweet boy. He will forever remain in his heart. Arrangements have been entrusted to Always & Furever in Our Hearts Pet Cremation in association with Liming Family Funeral Home, located in Shirley, Indiana. We are honored to serve the family of Bear Spaulding.
