Bert Wells of Greenfield, Indiana, a black and brown tabby boy belonging to Jessica Wells, passed over the Rainbow Bridge on Friday, July 26, 2024. Jessica was visiting a local humane society when she met this 8-week-old boy she named Bert. Bert felt so calm, comfortable, and safe with Jessica that he fell asleep in her arms in the middle of that noisy, chaotic place. That is when he won Jessica’s heart. Jessica made the decision to give this little one his forever home. Jessica brought Bert home and introduced him to Macy, who would become his cat fur sibling. As with most cats, Macy was a bit unsure and annoyed with this new boy invading her space. In time Bert began to win Macy’s heart as well and they would rub their heads together to greet each other all the while purring. Bert’s favorite place to be was cuddling with Jessica, curling up on her chest and placing his head in the crook of her neck. Jessica described Bert as “an absolute sweetheart." Bert was an active boy. He enjoyed playing fetch with Jessica with his soft toys. He would run back and forth, bringing his toys back to Jessica, each time waiting for her to throw them again and again. He would chase strings all day long. Bert loved to hide behind the couch and pop his head or paws out between the cushions to scare people. But the one thing that Bert loved the most in this world was Jessica. Jessica loved Bert with all of her heart and loved every second she got to spend with her sweet boy. Jessica and his fur sister, Macy, are heartbroken by the loss of Bert. He will forever remain in their hearts. Arrangements have been entrusted to Always & Furever in Our Hearts Pet Cremation in association with Liming Family Funeral Home, located in Shirley, Indiana. We are honored to serve the family of Bert Wells.
