Butters Sharp of Arlington, Indiana, the sweet white and orange tabby boy of the Sharp family, crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on Sunday, November 2nd, 2025. Butters was brought to the Sharp’s home in the summer of 2014 in Indiana and was adopted along with his brother after a friend of the family was moving and needed to find a new home for Butters and his sibling. The two became new members of the Sharp family.
The one thing the family loved the most about Butters was “his unique personality and his toe beans.” His family described his personality as being “aggressively affectionate, dog-like, fearless, mellow, and very go-with-the-flow.”
Butters enjoyed being groomed by his brother and sister cats. Butters was a cat who enjoyed his time outdoors. His family shared their favorite memory: “We kept thinking we saw him in the window of our neighbor’s house for years before we found out they had an almost identical cat, except theirs didn’t have a tail.”
Being an outdoorsy kind of boy for a long time, his family didn’t even realize that he had been declawed prior to them adopting him. Probably because one of his favorite things to do was to sneak up on, stalk, and catch chipmunks and eat them. Besides catching chipmunks, he would climb trees and proudly bring them gifts of mice, birds, and squirrels he would catch.
Butters loved everyone, but he adored Shanna. Butters would make sure he was either by Shanna’s side or beside one of his many other family members, human & animal. You would find Butters snuggled up with Gavin, who he slept beside from time to time. Butters was officially named “Butterscotch” but went by the nickname of “Butters”; the family just felt it was a better fit and loved him beyond words.
In addition to Shanna and Jason, Butters will be sadly missed by his human siblings Makenzie and Gavin as well as his cat brothers and sisters, Pete, Peyton, and Delilah, along with his dog brother Rowdy.
Butters is preceded across the Rainbow Bridge by his cat sibling Oreo and his dog siblings Boiler and Baleigh.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Always & Furever In Our Hearts Pet Cremation in association with Liming Family Funeral Home, located in Shirley, Indiana. We are honored to serve the family of Butters Sharp.
