Cash Reyes, the sweet 11-year-old Catahoula Leopard Hound boy of Tom and Sarah Reyes, of Greenfield, Indiana, passed over the Rainbow Bridge on Thursday, December 18, 2025.
Sarah shared, “We got Cash from a Craigslist ad for $50. We called him our clearance puppy. He wound up having parvo, and my husband paid $2000 to get him through that treatment, so we called him the million-dollar clearance puppy!”
Sarah described Cash’s personality as “a big, lumbering sweetie. He could look mean, but he’d never hurt a fly.
The Reyes family chose the perfect family pet. According to the AKC, “Catahoulas are the only breed of dog to have historically originated in the state of Louisiana. Once they know their place in the family unit, they are affectionate, loyal, and gentle. Also called the Catahoula Hog Dog, they are used as stock dogs, bay dogs, tree dogs, watchdogs, guard dogs, and, of course, loyal companions.
Tom and Sarah often called him “Fatty” because of his love for all food.
Cash wasn’t a picky boy when it came to food. According to Sarah, “He would do ANYTHING for table scraps and treats.”
Cash didn’t like bathtime, but he did like the rubbing down with shampoo.
Sarah shared what Cash valued in life: “He certainly adored any kind of attention. He demanded belly rubs from everyone. His sister, “June Carter,” was not allowed to be pet before HE was pet! “
Cash was loved so very much. He brought so much joy and happiness to the entire family. He will be missed immensely by his human parents, Tom and Sarah, and his human siblings, Harper and Marshall, and fur sister, German Shepherd, June Carter.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Always & Furever in Our Hearts Pet Cremation in association with Liming Family Funeral Home, located in Shirley, Indiana. We are honored to serve the family of Cash Reyes.
