Christine Conley Obituary

Christine (Binion) Conley, age 98, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at her residence in Shirley, Indiana. She was born on Thursday, August 5, 1926, in Amherstdale, West Virginia. She was the daughter of Willis and Goldie (Fife) Binion and the oldest of ten children. Christine spent her school years in Olive Hill, Kentucky. After attending school, she married the love of her life, Estes Conley, on May 29, 1945. Christine was a wife, mother, grandmother, and also a dedicated co-owner/employee who worked alongside her husband for more than three decades at “Conley’s Welding” in Shirley, Indiana. Christine and Estes were both avid animal lovers who owned many pets over the years. Christine and Estes loved spending precious time with their family. They also enjoyed spending time outdoors together camping, fishing, and bird watching. They enjoyed many wonderful years together until Estes’s passing in 2007. Christine was a collector of dolls and had quite a few. She liked listening to all types of bluegrass, gospel, and religious music. As long as it was praising the Lord, it was good music to listen to. She loved to watch The Andy Griffith Show and cooking shows, such as Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.” She never missed a Saturday episode of Jack Hanna's Into the Wild. Christine loved her ice cream as a sweet treat. She was a wonderful cook. Her family will miss her and her good down-home cooking.
Christine is survived by her loving children, Harold Conley of Shirley, Indiana; Jerry Conley of Shirley, Indiana; and Carla Green of Arizona City, Arizona; brother Danny Binion of Niles, Ohio; sister Barb Porter (Marvin) of Niles, Ohio; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by friends she made along the way. She will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Christine is preceded in death by her husband, Estes; parents, Willis and Goldie (Fife) Binion; daughters, Judy Conley and Marsha Conley; and son, Larry Conley. She is also preceded in death by her siblings: Robert Binion, Howard Binion, Woodrow Binion, Willis Binion Jr., Glenn Binion, Phillip Binion, and Sue Mocabee.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Christine’s hospice caregiver, Tabitha Richmond. You have been such a tremendous blessing to us, and we are so thankful to you. We would also like to thank the wonderful team at Suburban Hospice, who cared for Christine and treated her more like family than a patient. You have our deepest gratitude.
