Daisy Winchester

Daisy Winchester of Muncie, Indiana, a beautiful 14-year-old beloved brindle boxer-pit bull mix of Sherry and Jeff Winchester, passed over the Rainbow Bridge on Friday, January 2, 2026. Daisy was born in Muncie, Indiana, in the summer of 2011 and became a part of the Winchester family. Daisy was Sherry and Jeff’s son, Jeffrey’s dog, but from the very beginning she bonded with Sherry almost immediately. Daisy and Sherry became best friends. She was very protective of Sherry; according to Sherry, their souls were intertwined. 

When Sherry was gone, she always ran to greet her when she arrived home. From that moment on they were inseparable. Wherever you would find Sherry, there Daisy would be. Daisy had a playful personality. She enjoyed playing with Sherry.  Sherry shared, “I would act like I was going to get her, and she would act that way back. She would dodge side to side when I did the same to her.”  Daisy’s family loved her so much and indulged her with her favorite treats, which were chicken livers, beef sticks, carrots, bologna, and Milk-Bone dog treats. 

Daisy enjoyed the outdoors and going on walks.

She loved riding in the car with her family. Sherry shared one of her favorite memories of Daisy: “She loved car rides, sticking her head out of the back window, smelling the wind blowing against her.”

Daisy’s last year on this earth was a struggle, and she battled illness. Her human sister Shauna helped Sherry out daily with Daisy’s care, and they became very close over this time. Shauna brightened Daisy’s day with her visits. Daisy appreciated the love and care both Sherry and Shauna provided for her during her final days. 

Her human daddy Jeff loved her so much, and she loved him; Daisy would always make sure she was keeping him in her sights. According to Sherry, “Daisy would look at him while lying on her pillow bed, out of the corner of her eyes, funny.”

Daisy was a beautiful, loving soul; Sherry described her as “the perfect girl.”

In addition to Sherry and Jeff, she will be lovingly remembered by her human brother, Jeffrey, and by her human sister, Shauna. Daisy will also be mourned by her fur sibling, Chevy. 

Daisy will be sadly missed, but she will always remain in the hearts of her family, who loved her immensely.
