Demon Thacker of Hoquiam, Washington, the beautiful, beloved Siberian Husky of Kayce and Derek Thacker, was visiting with family in New Castle, Indiana and unexpectedly crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on Wednesday, September 2, 2024 following an accident. Demon was born on Thanksgiving day, Thursday, November 28, 2013 in Findlay, Ohio. Kayce’s good friend promised her the pick of the litter from her own pregnant husky mama. When the puppies arrived Kayce saw the most precious little male pup, the runt of the litter, she knew this little one had to come home with her. It was love at first sight. The family decided to give this little puppy the name of “Demon” Although Demon didn’t live up to his name, he was the sweetest, most gentle boy and he wouldn’t hurt a fly. Demon got along with other animals, cats and dogs as well. Demon would love on and act as a nanny to several kittens the family had and Demon’s best buddy was his dog pal Mason. But Demon absolutely adored his human siblings, Everett and Kaylynn. From day one, Kayce made sure that he was always around her babies so he learned to be gentle with all little creatures, human and animal. He became their guardian, he always made sure his family was in his sight and safe. Demon earned the nickname “Clifford” because he was such a big boy. He despised having baths but liked the water, even though Kayce had to actually get into the water to teach him how to swim. Every year Demon’s family made sure to celebrate his birthday by giving him a big delicious turkey dinner plate since he was born on Thanksgiving. Demon he was a talker and would let his family know when he had something to say. If he could have spoken in words he surely would’ve told his family how much he loved them and they loved him in return. The family is devastated by the loss of Demon but expressed that they knew he would be joining Grandma and Grandpa and they would be there to welcome him to heaven after he crossed the Rainbow Bridge. They will forever hold the memory of their sweet boy in their hearts.
In addition to Kayce and Derek, mourning the sudden loss of Demon are his human siblings, Everett and Kaylynn and his furry best friend, Mason.
