Dixie Adams Obituary

Dixie Lou Adams of Greenfield, Indiana, crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at 11:45 pm. Dixie Lou was born in Greenfield, Indiana. In November of 2013, when she was just a little six-week-old pup, Tasha adopted this beautiful little girl. Dixie Lou settled in with her new family and in her new home wonderfully. Dixie Lou had such a loving personality. Dixie Lou took on the role of keeping a watchful eye on her family. She made it her mission to make sure they were safe.

Tasha shared that what she loved most about Dixie Lou was that she was so loving and so protective of her family. She described Dixie Lou’s personality as “very protective and full of life.” continuing “She was a mother hen.”

One of Dixie Lou’s favorite things to do was to go on car rides with her family. Even though she sounded ferocious and acted like, according to Tasha, “she was going to eat every passerby,” whether it was to run errands or just go on a drive, Dixie Lou was always ready to go.

Dixie Lou absolutely hated taking a bath and being groomed; it was definitely not her thing. What Dixie Lou did enjoy was her family’s food. She didn't have a particular treat that she liked; if it was on the dinner table, Dixie Lou thought she deserved a bite too.

Tasha shared that her favorite memory of Dixie Lou was the day she adopted her and brought her home to become a part of the family. Tasha felt what Dixie Lou valued most in her life was “her peace and quiet time.” One of Dixie Lou’s favorite places to relax, take a nap, or sleep is on her Mimi's bed.

Dixie Lou had a special bond with her human great-grandfather. She was “Grandpa’s Girl” and loved him very much. Sadly, he passed away. Since his passing, Dixie Lou gravitated toward her human Mimi, and had since become very close to her.

Dixie Lou, or as her family often lovingly called her, “Lou Lou,” had a big heart and brought happiness and joy to her family for nearly 12 years. She will forever remain in her family's memories.

In addition to Tasha, mourning the loss of Dixie Lou is her human family: Poppy, Luke, siblings Aliyah and Easton, Aunt Riah, and her beloved Mimi, and her “pain in the behind” dog siblings, Lester, Precious, and King.

Dixie Lou was preceded in death by her beloved human great-grandfather.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Always & Furever In Our Hearts Pet Cremation in association with Liming Family Funeral Home, located in Shirley, Indiana. We are honored to serve the family of Dixie Lou Adams.
