Donna Jean (Gillinger) Miller

Donna Jean Miller, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana. Donna was born on Thursday, December 22, 1949  in Loveland, Ohio to mother Naomi (Coldiron) Gillinger and father, Joseph Gillinger.

Donna attended Northridge High School and earned her general educational development diploma. Donna was a hard working woman. She worked many years as a waitress at Liberty Restaurant, the American Legion and most recently, The Knolls of Oxford until retirement. She was a successful waitress because Donna could light up a room with her charm and personality. 

Donna enjoyed watching reality television and watching the silly antics on the television show “Mom”. She was a music lover, a fan of all genres, from Elvis Presley to Country and Hard Rock. The radio was on and was always playing in the background. Donna had a sweet tooth, cookies, cakes and candy, if it was sweet and it was chocolate she loved it. Donna enjoyed growing flowers and gardening until illness prevented her from being able to keep up and tend to the plants. Donna didn’t really enjoy cooking but she enjoyed eating what others cooked. She especially loved getting together during the holidays to enjoy the food and time with her family. Donna was all about family. As a child Donna did not come from a close, tight-knit family. As a mother and grandmother to her own family, Donna instilled that where there is family, there is love. Donna was the most loving and caring mom and grandmother. Watching her grand and great-grandchildren grow gave her so much joy. Donna loved spending time with her family and they will never forget her love. They will forever hold Donna in their hearts.

 In addition to her parents, Donna is preceded in death by her husband, David Miller. Donna is also preceded in death recently by her beloved dog, Moe, who in life followed Donna everywhere. Moe crossed over the Rainbow Bridge while visiting Donna in the hospital one day prior to her passing, awaiting her arrival to be by her side once again.

Left to cherish Donna’s memory are her three daughters; Chastity Plemons of Richmond, Indiana, Darlene Shephard of Liberty, Indiana and Lisa (Kelly) Taulbee of Ross, Ohio, grandchildren; Cody Sturgill and Courtney Sturgill of Tennessee, Ashley (Isaiah) Miranda of Illinois, Stephanie (Mason Spencer) Plemons of Richmond, Indiana, Jacob Plemons of Richmond, Indiana and Kelsey Taulbee of Ross, Ohio. Donna is also survived by her great-grandchildren as well as many other family and friends.

Honoring Donna’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.
