Dozer Williams, the handsome, sweet Cane Corso boy of Amanda Mounce and Jake Williams of Greenfield, Indiana, passed over the Rainbow Bridge in the evening of Saturday, May 2, 2026.
Dozer was born on Wednesday, October 2, 2012. His actual life began the day he was rescued by Jake and Amanda on a winter day, Sunday, January 3, 2016. Jake found Dozer on a Facebook post; he had been living in a car with his owner, who was no longer able to care for him.
Jake and Amanda showed Dozer what it felt like to be truly loved and cared for. Dozer slowly learned to trust that not all humans were cruel. Amanda shared a favorite memory of their time with Dozer. “Our favorite memory of Dozer was rescuing him. Being able to bring him inside and take the muzzle and shock collar off of him for good was the best feeling ever.”
He would have celebrated his fourteenth birthday this October. Amanda described Dozer’s personality as “the alpha of the dogs but was such a huge baby; he was the leader. He loved his people and being around the people he loved the most.”
Amanda shared that what they loved the most about Dozer was that “Dozer was so full of love. What I loved the most is that he always wanted to be included and go everywhere with us.”
Amanda relayed that “Dozer loved every treat or type of food; he especially loved when we would go to the Three Dogs Bakery and get dog treats.”
Dozer’s favorite toy was his stuffed lamb chop. He was a good boy and didn’t like to be dirty. According to Amanda, “He loved to smell good and take baths. He was a huge water dog.”
Dozer loved going bye-bye! Amanda shared, “Dozer loved going for rides. The entire back seat of my car was set up for him with blankets, pillows, and plenty of toys. Every errand I ran, Dozer would tag along.”
Amanda felt what Dozer seemed to value the most in life was “his dad, Jake Williams. He looked up to him so much. They were two peas in a pod.” She added, “He also loved being outside. Any type of weather, he wanted to be outside in it. He had one rough day outside when he came across something that wasn’t quite in the mood to play with him.” Amanda shared, “When we used to live in an apartment, I would take Dozer to random places sometimes to run around and play so he had more space. One time I took him to a church to run for a little while, and he came across a skunk. Before I could stop him, Dozer was trying to smell the skunk, and sure enough, the skunk sprayed him. We tried everything for weeks to get the smell off Dozer. He was a stinky boy."
Dozer loved Amanda so much, but he had a special bond with his human dad, Jake. Jake and Dozer were more than family; they were best friends. Jake taught Dozer how to trust humans again, and in return Dozer gave unconditional love.
Dozer, who was also known by the nicknames of "Dodo," “Juse Boy," “Josey Wells," “Snoobin Woose," “Joobie Man," and "Canooze Boy," was loved by his family and by everyone who crossed paths with this big boy with his even bigger heart. He touched so many lives during his time here on earth, and he will never be forgotten.
Dozer was greeted crossing the Rainbow Bridge by his fur brother Baxter, who preceded him in death on April 3, 2026.
In addition to his human parents, Amanda and Jake, and grandmother, Evelyn Gallew, mourning his loss are his two younger fur brothers, Gunner and Rex.
