Ellie Claxon, the sweet 15-year-old beloved Labradoodle of Paul and Amy Claxon, of Markleville, Indiana, passed over the Rainbow Bridge Tuesday, January 14, 2025. Her family shared fond memories, adding that their Ellie was “a good girl.” Ellie enjoyed the outdoors and loved everything snow. Ellie’s family joked that she was part polar bear, adding that “during the winters we would let her hair grow out so she could play outside with us in the snow. The family relayed that “the kids always had her on a sled or chasing snowballs. She loved our snowblower; she would run and jump and bite at the cascade of snow coming from the snowblower. She ate a lot of snow too; in the summers, she always wanted to chew on ice cubes.”
Ellie was a gentle, sweet soul. She was a good friend to everyone who came to the Claxon home. She was well-behaved and quiet. She loved to receive pets from everyone. Ellie’s family said the only time Ellie displayed even the slightest aggression would be when Ellie would see the neighborhood kitty cat or rabbit in the yard; according to her family, “she never once caught anything, but she enjoyed the chase.”
Ellie was quite the character. Her family recalled that she was a sneaky girl. She would try to take her naps on every family member’s bed in the home. She would hop up on the couch. If she heard the car door open within seconds, she would jump in. Ellie liked her treats. She was such a clever girl and used her sneakiness with the treat cabinet. Her family relayed, “She would stand and bump the cabinet door whenever a new person entered the room. Trying to signal that she has never ever had a treat before.” Paul and Amy described Ellie as “a wonderful family dog that we had the pleasure of being with for 15 years.”
Ellie’s entire family will miss her greatly. Ellie will also be missed by every friend she made and every life she touched. Arrangements have been entrusted to Always & Furever in Our Hearts Pet Cremation in association with Liming Family Funeral Home, located in Shirley, Indiana. We are honored to serve the family of Ellie Claxon.
