Frances Louise Horn, age 78, of Shirley, Indiana, passed away peacefully early on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Anderson. Frances was born on Friday, August 31, 1945, in Otisco, Indiana, the daughter of the late Marvin and Gladys Lucille (King) Garrett. Frances graduated from Madison Heights High School in 1964, and on March 18, 1966, she married the love of her life, David Horn. Frances and David were married for nearly 25 years. They shared two children: a daughter, Virginia, and a son, Michael. Tragically, David passed away at the young age of 51 on June 23, 1990. Frances was always a hard-working woman. She worked outside the home at the RCA Electronics Manufacturing Plant in Marion, the Omni Severin Hotel, and Universal Music & Video Distribution, both located in Indianapolis until she continued doing the hardest job but the one she loved the most, being a full time mom and grandmother. Frances liked to listen to country music legends, such as Loretta Lynn, George Jones and Tammy Wynette to name a few. Her favorite movie was the sweet romantic comedy, “Just Like Heaven” and She has always loved Disney’s “Snow White”. Back in the day when Frances had some free time, she would enjoy going to the horse track. As of 1983, Frances was a lifetime member of the Anderson chapter of the Fraternal Order Of Eagles #174 where she made many friends and memories over the years. Frances liked her Skyline Chili and the occasional bologna sandwich. She had to have her daily bottle of Diet Mt. Dew. Frances loved and adored her family. She also loved little furry best buddy, Maltese Poodle “Carter”. Carter never left her side and he is also mourning her loss. Frances will be missed beyond words. Frances is survived by her, daughter, Virginia Moreland, of Shirley, Indiana and son, Michael (Heidi) Horn, of Harrison, Arkansas, grandchildren; Bridgette (Eugene) Gephart and Derek Moreland, great grandchildren; Joshua, Matthew, Cayden and Landyn siblings; Consulo “Connie” Fox, Joyce (Paul) Collis, Melvin (Paula) Garrett, Marvin ( Martha) Garrett, and Jesse Garrett. In addition to her parents and husband, Frances is preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Garrett, and sister, Barbara Fox. A graveside service for Frances will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery on Thursday, August 8, 2024, located at 6805 Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Anderson, IN 46013.
