Jazz Novotny, of Lynn, Indiana, and Domestic Short-Hair Tuxedo Cat, of Tanna Novotny, unexpectedly crossed over the Rainbow Bridge at 9:48 a.m. on Sunday, August 4, 2024. Jazz was a traveling man and probably traveled to more of the United States than some humans. In 2014, Jazz was adopted by Tanna from an animal shelter located in Kansas. The shelter advised that Jazz was approximately 18 months old at the time. Jazz was in a very bad situation. Jazz was suffering from a really bad respiratory infection. Tanna took the sweet boy home with her and nursed him back to health. Jazz has been by Tanna’s side ever since. Jazz has traveled with Tanna from Kansas to Nebraska and ultimately to Indiana. Jazz was such a chill guy who adjusted just fine. Jazz was very vocal and would speak his mind. He would also let you know, gently, when he was wanting you to get him a treat. Jazz would take his claws out and just tap your hand a bit to get your attention. Jazz was a character. He enjoyed lying in the recliner with an afghan on him, watching TV. Jazz was a little feisty guy. He once took on a battle with a Canadian goose, and at another time he dueled with a wild turkey. Jazz was a cool cat; he liked to stretch out on his back and take naps. He would take off like a rocket at any moment and get the zoomies. Jazz was described by his family as being “a really good boy." Jazz will be sadly missed by Tanna, who loved Jazz and his little feisty spirit; by his human family, Jennifer, Darra, and Cody; by his fur siblings, Blues, Rocky Olliver, and El Guapo.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Always & Furever In Our Hearts Pet Cremation in association with Liming Family Funeral Home located in Shirley, Indiana. We are honored to serve the family of Jazz Novotny.
