Jelly Stewart-Gadd Obituary

Jelly Belly Stewart-Gadd of Greenfield, Indiana, a beautiful American Shorthair cat of Sharonetta “Shar” Gadd and Daniel “Dan” Stewart, passed over the Rainbow Bridge on Thursday, August 15, 2024. Shar and Dan were both starting out their lives together, having just graduated from high school in the summer of 2006. Shar and Dan were at their friend Kelly's house, celebrating with everyone their recent accomplishments. Kelly brought Shar to her laundry room to show her a little surprise she had. In fact, there were a few little surprises. Kelly’s cat had a litter of kittens in the laundry room. Right away, Jelly stole Shar’s heart. She knew immediately that this was the cat for her. Shar was unsure how Dan would react to the “little surprise.” Shar put Jelly inside her shirt to hide her from Dan. On the ride home, Shar tried to sneak Jelly into their home, and she almost made it before Jelly’s tiny “meow” gave the secret away. Jelly has been a talker ever since. She slept on the pillows alongside Shar and Dan for over 18 years and would wake them every morning with her meows for her breakfast. Jelly wasn’t a picky girl; she enjoyed all kinds of treats. Whenever Jelly was around, you never wanted to make the mistake of leaving your food unattended because she liked human food and would steal it and eat it too. She would perch beside whoever was eating and paw at their food to try to get a little bite. Jelly was a little contortionist and would lay in the funniest positions on the floor. Jelly was a traveler and had probably traveled across more of the United States than some people have. Jelly was born in Indiana. She traveled to Arizona with her family to reside for a few years before ultimately returning back to Indiana with her family to settle down. Jelly’s family described her as being so sweet, the very best, and the most loving cat. They went on to say, “Our home is not the same; Jelly’s “meows” are missed every minute of every day. Shar and Dan are absolutely heartbroken by the loss of their sweet Jelly Belly. In addition to Shar and Dan, Jelly is lovingly missed by her cat siblings, Buddha, Maggie, Duke, Athena, and Bandit. Arrangements have been entrusted to Always & Furever in Our Hearts Pet Cremation in association with Liming Family Funeral Home, located in Shirley, Indiana. We are honored to serve the family of Jelly Belly Stewart-Gadd.
