Jerry L Ferrell

Jerry L. Ferrell, age 79, formerly of Plainfield, Indiana died at his home in Meridian, Idaho of MDS on April 12, 2022. He was surrounded by his loving family; wife, Judy and sons; Bradley (Stacey) Ferrell and Jeffrey (Sara) Ferrell, granddaughters; Jordan and Kamryn Ferrell. Jerry was born June 4, 1942 to parents, Walter and Estella Ferrell.  In addition to his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by his brothers; Garland, Donald and Larry Ferrell and sister, Barbara Milligan. In 1965 he married Carolyn Leech who passed away in 2008. He later reconnected with his high school sweetheart, Judy Simmons Ashton who was widowed in 1978. The two were married in 2010 and Jerry’s children and grandchildren celebrated the marriage along with Judy’s son Rick (Amy) Ashton and their children; Kate, Lauren and Thomas, and daughter, Kathy (Chad) Kornberg and children, Wyatt and Sidney. Jerry attended Plainfield High School and graduated in 1960. After graduation Jerry attended Indiana State University. Jerry also served our country in the US Army National Guard. Jerry was employed by Ely Lilly and Company until retirement and was a member of the Plainfield Christian Church. Jerry was also instrumental in the development of Northfield Woods, a beautiful subdivision in the Town of Plainfield. He was an avid bass fisherman and enjoyed fishing with Carolyn during their visits to Florida and also with his fishing buddies in Indiana and Idaho. Jerry enjoyed traveling and was a big fan of IU and later Boise State basketball, especially since he had played basketball in high school and college. He also enjoyed attending his grandchildren's theatrical performances and various sports events. Jerry's kindness, humor, loyalty and loving personality will be missed by his family and friends.  A Memorial Service will be held for Jerry at the Plainfield Christian Church, located at 800 Dan Jones Rd, Plainfield, Indiana 46168 on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. The staff of Liming Family Funeral are honored to be a part of assisting the family of Jerry during this difficult time.
