Joey M. Jones

Joey M. Jones, 56, Peacefully passed away Monday, February 10, 2014 at Methodist Hospital. He was the son of the late Ralph B. Jones and Joyce M. (Gorman) Tompkins. Joe was born on July 13th, 1957 in Rushville and was a lifelong Hancock County resident. Joe was a good neighbor and friend to all. He was willing to help with whatever he could. He spent most of his life working in construction prior to becoming disabled. Joe attended the Shirley Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed riding his bike around his home town of Shirley. Joe is survived by his brothers: Dan (Alice) Jones, David (Lu) Jones, Jack (Mary Iva) Jones, Shannon (Theresa) Jones, Ronnie (Sue) Jones, John (Jack) Smith, Charles (Melody) Jones, and John Jones. Sisters: Susie (Bob) Wilson, Beth Jones, and Kimberly (Marc) Taylor, and Step-Mom: Gail P. Jones, and many nieces and nephews. Joe was loved by all. He was preceded in death by brother, Robert P. Jones. Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm-2:00 pm on Saturday February 15, 2014 at the Shirley Church of the Nazarene located at 310 South St., Shirley, IN. Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m., with burial immediately following at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown, IN.  In lieu of flowers please make contributions to: Joe Jones Memorial Fund; in care of the Shirley Church of the Nazarene.
