June Bug Mooney-Young Obituary

June Bug Mooney-Young, sweet girl, from Pendleton, Indiana, passed over the Rainbow Bridge on Friday, November 1, 2024. June Bug was born the fifth of seven kittens on Monday, March 9, 2009, to cat parents Aphrodite and Achilles. Kristen was there for the delivery and helped deliver her into this world. June Bug was born exactly one month before Kristen’s wedding day. June Bug was the typical energetic kitten, but even as a kitten, she was full of so much comfort and love. June Bug spent her time on this earth being a constant, gentle form of support for every life around her. When her cat sibling Merlin was nearing his time to cross the Rainbow Bridge, June Bug stayed by Merlin’s side, cuddling him until he left this world. June Bug sensed he needed her, and she was there for him. June Bug was a lover; she wanted to snuggle and be as close to you as possible. If she could catch you sitting still, June Bug always wanted to lay on your chest. She would often cuddle up and purr herself to sleep. Kristen shared her favorite memory of June Bug was after her infant son, Ethan, was born. She would seek out him so she could curl up alongside him. Once she found him, she would be purring so loudly with happiness and love she had for baby Ethan. June Bug loved everyone; whereas most cats would shy away from people, she enjoyed human companionship and would seek it out as much as possible. If you were around June Bug, you would either get to experience the calmness of her soft purrs or her joy of making biscuits on you, which she loved to do. June Bug would lay on whoever was visiting, just to show she loved them. June Bug was such a joyful, happy girl. She loved playing with her toy balls; the more they rattled, the more she would chase them. June Bug enjoyed snacking on her lickable treats; she had one just before crossing the Rainbow Bridge. What June Bug loved the most was Kristen. When Kristen would call her by her nickname “Bug, Bug,” she would always come running to happily greet her. June Bug was very ill and tried her very best to hang on and stay here out of her love for Kristen, even trying to purr to Kristen in her final moments. Kristen was there as June Bug entered this world and by her side as she crossed the Rainbow Bridge, there for June Bug just as she had been for all those she loved during her lifetime. The entire Mooney-Young family will miss June Bug and her sweet, caring soul, but know she is at peace.

In addition to Kristen, June Bug will be mourned by Katie Mooney, Ethan Young, Austin Young, Dakotah Young, and Lily Young. And her brother Leopold and step-bubby Kimchi adopted bubby Oliver. Her dog friends, Cirrus, Maddox, and Brulee. And Willie the Mallard.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Always & Furever in Our Hearts Pet Cremation in association with Liming Family Funeral Home, located in Shirley, Indiana. We are honored to serve the family of June Bug Mooney-Young Cat.
