Katnis Bertram Obituary

Katnis Bertram, of Knightstown, Indiana, a beautiful Black Maine Coon Mix girl belonging to Savannah Bertram, crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on Sunday, November 3, 2024. Katnis was adopted by Savannah in July of 2015. Katnis was an absolute sweetheart. She was a very sassy girl and always meowed back at you when you were speaking to her. Katnis was a clever kitty and was caught on video taking her paw, spinning, and playing with Savannah’s fidget spinner. Katnis loved to play and would let her inner wild feline come out. One day she found a bobcat’s skin at their home. From that day forward, Katnis would play with the skin of the bobcat's head, and it forever became her favorite toy. She would toss it in the air and fetch it when it was thrown; she loved the bobcat skin so much. As a young kitten, she didn’t mind car trips, but as she grew older, she enjoyed being a homebody and did not like car rides at all. Katnis enjoyed drinking water straight from the sink, but she was not a fan of water for a bath and would always try to use Savannah as her escape ladder to get out of the tub. She was a lover of all food and wasn’t too proud to beg for it. She loved meat, but she especially loved green peas and would eat them gently one by one. Dinner was entertaining at the Bertram house. Savannah shared a favorite memory that during dinner time Katnis would randomly jump on her dad’s back, stating “it always scared him and hurt him a little because of her claws,” but she continued this surprise random nightly routine just to be a part of the family gathering. Katnis was so loving; she was a snuggler and loved being cuddled and preferred pats on the butt. She liked to get under the covers to keep warm. She was a very affectionate girl who liked to snuggle with the other cats as well. Katnis, who was also known as “Kitty Meow Meow, Big Booty Judy, Nissa, and Ratnis, was absolutely the sweetest girl. She was Savannah’s girl. They did everything together; Katnis slept by Savannah’s side every night. She was Savannah’s shadow, always. She was Savannah’s baby, and she will forever hold a special place in her heart. In addition to Savannah, mourning the loss of Katnis are her human family members: grandparents Christine and Mark, Aunt Cassidy and Uncle Kevin, two little cat sisters Winnie and Pooh, and her little dog brother, Pi.
