Keno Hale, the handsome Boston Terrier boy of Shiloh Hale from Pendleton, Indiana, passed over the Rainbow Bridge on Sunday, November 17, 2024. Keno was born on Monday, December 31, 2012, and would have celebrated his twelveth birthday this December 31st. Keno was adopted by Shiloh and Frank Hale in early 2013 after he caught their attention and won their hearts in a pet store in Columbus, Ohio. Although Shiloh and Frank eventually parted ways, Keno continued to remain a part of Frank’s life as well. Keno had such a loving, fun personality and was so playful. He always wanted to be by his family’s side. He loved going on car rides with his family and wanted to go anywhere his family was going as long as it didn’t involve a trip to the veterinarian's office. Keno enjoyed the outdoors, chasing bubbles, splashing and playing in the water, biting at the water spraying from the garden hose, and being dried off by the towel. He liked going on camping trips with his family. When indoors Keno liked to sing to his family, he would howl loudly when his family would pretend like someone was at the door. On the couch, you would either find him lying on the back soaking up the sun or on the cushions just snuggling up cozy alongside his family. On the floor, he would be playing tug of war and tossing his favorite rope. Every once in a while he would give his family a little scare when he would get rambunctious, lose his grip on his rope, and send it flying across the room. You could also find him playing and wrestling with his younger fur brother, Dobby. Keno was an independent boy, and like most independent boys, he didn’t like to be picked up and held and wanted to be able to do his own thing. Keno’s favorite treat was his Mini Milkbones. Keno was such a huge part of the Hale family’s life. Keno was also known sweetly as “No, No” because his younger human sister was unable to pronounce his name when he first arrived at his new home. The nickname was so cute it just stuck with him. Although Keno loved playing in the water outside, he absolutely hated getting a bath indoors. Keno had a special bond and was especially fond of his human sibling, Cadence. He’d follow her and panic if she left the house. Family is what brought him the most joy in his life. His family described Keno as “such a good little dude.” Keno will never be forgotten and will always remain in their hearts. Shiloh and Keno’s stepfather, Shawn Teague, mourn the loss of Keno along with Frank. Also mourning the loss of Keno are his human siblings: Cadence, JW, Nitti, Brooklyn, Madison, Trinity, Samara, and Becklyn; grandparents Jerry and Colette Dollarhide; and his younger fur sibling, Dobby; and his older fur stepsister, Karma.
