Kita Leining-Fecher Obituary

Kita Leining-Fecher of New Castle, Indiana, the beloved Siberian Husky of Promise Leining and Phillip Green unexpectedly crossed over the Rainbow Bridge the evening of Friday, January 31, 2025.

Kita was born on Sunday, October 7, 2018, in Rushville, Indiana, and she started out her first years as a puppy living in Homer, Indiana, with her human grandma and grandpa, Lisa and Corey Fecher, her mama, Promise, and her best buddy Domonic Fecher, who Kita grew up with. Promise shared the love the family had for Kita from the day she was adopted, recalling, “Grandma Lisa and Grandpa Corey took care of her through it all, from a baby to the amazing dog she became. Promise said her favorite memory of Kita was “when she first came into my life. She was just a baby.” The day came when Promise was ready to venture out and start her own family. She moved into her own home with Phillip in New Castle. The family made the decision that Kita would live with Promise and Phillip. Promise recalled the strong bond Kita had for her, “She would come into the house; the first door she would bust through would be mine. Then she would get up on my bed and cuddle with me.” In an article regarding Siberian Husky temperament written by Tracey L. Kelley, -Outgoing and friendly, a Siberian greets anyone who comes to the door with a sniff and maybe a head bump, sweeping the floor with their wagging tail. They are a wonderful host—which means they are not remotely interested in keeping anyone away, so scratch "guard dog" off your list. Kita fit the description of a Siberian Husky perfectly. She was a sweet soul. Promise relayed that what she loved most about Kita was her personality. She described Kita as a “loving, wild, rambunctious, and a goofy” girl. Promise shared one of Kita’s favorite objects in their home was their clothes, specifically their underwear. Like most Siberian Huskies, Kita enjoyed being outdoors. Kita loved treats. All treats. Especially the treats she would receive at Christmas and the soft, chewy Tums she would get into. Kita acted like she didn’t like being bathed, but according to Promise, she loved being groomed, and she was so happy after.

The main focus of Kita’s life was about love. She loved everyone. What made her the happiest in her life was being surrounded by people who loved her. Kita's greatest love was for Promise. They shared a deep bond from the time Kita was a puppy until her last day on this earth. Kita, who also went by the nicknames of “Mamas” and “Pretty Girl,” brought so much happiness into this world. Promise and Phillip are absolutely heartbroken by the loss of their sweet Kita, who to them was not a mere pet; she was their daughter. Also mourning her loss are her human grandparents, Lisa and Corey Fecher, and her best buddy, Domonic Fecher.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Always & Furever In Our Hearts Pet Cremation in association with Liming Family Funeral Home, located in Shirley, Indiana. We are honored to serve the family of Kita Leining-Fecher.
