Kitty Cross of Greenfield, Indiana, the beloved Siberian Husky of Andrew and Caitlyn Cross unexpectedly crossed over the Rainbow Bridge the morning of Friday, August 15, 2025.
Kitty was born in Attica, Indiana, to a private breeder. She became a part of Andrew’s life in 2014 when he was just 17 years old when he decided to adopt her.
Andrew said his favorite memory of Kitty was “just recently I took her for a ride in the car and let her walk around in a creek. Just the two of us, very peaceful.”
Andrew relayed that what he loved most about Kitty was “She was very soft-spoken for a husky.” He described Kitty’s personality as “even-tempered and relaxed, especially in her old age.”
Andrew shared that Kitty “never really played with toys,” continuing that she would sometimes play tug of war with their smaller dog.
Like most Siberian Huskies, Kitty enjoyed being outdoors. Andrew shared a funny moment when Kitty was younger: she once got mad at their other dog “for trying to chase a bee” and “for trying to eat a bee.” Stating, “It was comical.”
One thing Kitty did not care for was bath time. Kitty hated being bathed; according to Andrew, “She would scream. One of the times she was NOT a soft-spoken husky.”
What Andrew felt Kitty valued the most in her life was food, relaying, “She loved a good snack.” Kitty particularly loved frozen chicken nuggets as a special treat.
Kitty loved her family and loved going on car rides with her family. Kitty's greatest love was for Andrew. They shared a special bond from the time Kitty was a puppy. As Kitty’s time came closer to the end of her journey here on earth, she drew closer and became more protective of her human sibling, Korra.
Kitty, who also went by the nickname of “Kitty Girl,” brought so much happiness to the family. Andrew and Caitlyn are absolutely heartbroken by the loss of their sweet Kitty. Also mourning her loss are her human siblings, Lincoln and Korra, and dog sibling, Crow.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Always & Furever In Our Hearts Pet Cremation in association with Liming Family Funeral Home, located in Shirley, Indiana. We are honored to serve the family of Kitty Cross.
