Kujo King of Shirley, Indiana, the 16-year-old lovable blue tick beagle hound mix of Kristen and Bill King, passed over the Rainbow Bridge on Monday, October 13, 2025.
Kujo was adopted by the King family after he was found as a stray in 2009. He was wandering around a gas station in Kentucky and walked up to them. Luckily for this boy, he hit the jackpot by finding a loving home and becoming a member of the King family. The one thing the family loved most about Kujo was how sweet and loving he was. The family’s favorite memory of Kujo was how each year Kujo would creep around the Christmas tree. His family recalled how he liked to “walk around the Christmas tree very slowly, almost as if he was creeping around the bottom under the tree every year.”
Kujo loved most everything with one exception: like most hounds, Kujo absolutely hated getting a bath.
Kujo loved going for car rides with his family. Kujo also enjoyed the outdoors and going camping with his family.
Kujo’s family described his personality as full of love and bubbling with energy. Kujo’s favorite object was blankets that he loved to snuggle up with.
Kujo, who was also lovingly referred to by his family as “Dojo,” loved everyone, and everyone who met Kujo loved him. His family shared that what Kujo valued the most in his life was back scratches and food.
For 16 years Kujo has always been by his family’s side. He will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by his human family: parents, Kristen and Bill; sisters Eleanor, Ruby, and Adalyn; brother Liam; grandparents Casey and Debbie King and Bill and Vicki Stagge. Kujo was preceded in death by his fur sibling, Muffin, who met Kujo on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Always & Furever In Our Hearts Pet Cremation in association with Liming Family Funeral Home, located in Shirley, Indiana. We are honored to serve the family of Kujo King.
