Lucy Wagner Obituary

Lucy Wagner of Greenfield, Indiana, a 9-year-old sweet Pitbull Mix girl of Robin Wagner, crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on Friday, September 20, 2024. Lucy was born on Monday, February 23, 2015. Lucy was found wandering the streets after being abandoned. Lucy then spent her young life being shuffled from one animal shelter to another until she finally ended up at the Wayne County Humane Society in Wooster, Ohio. Robin saw a video the shelter posted on TikTok featuring Lucy and made the journey to give this girl her forever home. Lucy was given a fresh start in life by Robin on Thursday, July 29, 2021, when she adopted Lucy. Lucy was so excited to finally have her own home. Robin shared that the very first night she brought Lucy home from Ohio, they got stuck in a horrible traffic jam. They arrived home late into the night. Robin slowly walked Lucy around the house to become acquainted with her new surroundings. Lucy sniffed and explored the home, and she happily jumped up onto the couch. She put both paws on Robin’s shoulders and gave her lots of licks and kisses. Lucy was so thankful that she was finally "home." Lucy brought her favorite toy with her from the shelter to her new home; it was an old rubber ball that looked like an eyeball; the color was worn and faded; it was probably purchased around Halloween. Lucy carried it with her everywhere. When Halloween came around, Robin purchased her more eyeball toys made from different types of materials; she loved them all. Even though Lucy was happy with her new surroundings, she still struggled a bit when she first arrived at her new home. During the first week after Robin adopted her, she shared that she didn’t anticipate Lucy having some separation anxiety and destructive behavior when Robin would be away from home. Robin started crating her, but she chewed right through the wire on the crates in no time. Robin caught the whole event on her Ring security video camera. Robin has photos of Lucy on top of the crate showing how she escaped and video of her just howling away after the escape. Robin stated that she shared the picture with her team at work, and everyone had a big laugh.

Lucy was very conflicted when it came to going on car rides; she liked to ride in the car with Robin, but at times she would become anxious; her anxiety was likely caused by a past of being driven to a place and left behind. She was always so very happy when she realized that Robin was never going to leave her behind and she was finally home to stay. Lucy enjoyed chewing on the filled femur bones Robin would purchase for her. Lucy would gnaw and chew on them and would not stop until they were down to a few tiny nubs. Lucy was a girl with many nicknames, such as Lucy Goosey, Loose, Sweetie, and Babygirl, just to name a few. Lucy was a funny, lovable, goofy girl who walked around with a smile and often with her tongue hanging out. Lucy could be a bit stubborn at times. She didn’t mind getting a bath as long as it was done by the groomers and not her mama, Robin. Lucy enjoyed lazy days and loved to snuggle. She would often stick her head in between the couch cushions and pillows. She would even push her head inside pillowcases and snore away. She had the softest, sweetest eyes, full of kindness towards people in a world that wasn’t always so kind to her. Lucy knew that with Robin she was finally living the good life in a loving home. Following the adoption, Robin continued to document Lucy’s life after bringing her home to live with her. Robin started a TikTok page for her @ilovelucythepit so her fans from the adoption page could continue to follow Lucy’s adventures. When Lucy left this world and crossed over the Rainbow Bridge, she had 1609 followers on her TikTok page.

In addition to Robin, whom Lucy loved beyond measure, mourning the loss of Lucy are her human grandparents, Chris and Kyle Wagner, and her playtime buddy, Travis Wagner, along with everyone who crossed paths with sweet Lucy, along with many, many Tik Tok fans. Arrangements have been entrusted to Always & Furever In Our Hearts Pet Cremation in association with Liming Family Funeral Home, located in Shirley, Indiana.
