Mamacitta Spencer, the six-year-old barn guardian extraordinaire of Deb Spencer of Wilkinson, Indiana, passed over the Rainbow Bridge sometime around Friday, July 25, 2024. Deb was unfortunately out of town and found her fur baby upon return. Mamacitta was about six years old and was born in Deb’s family room after Mamacitta’s mama snuck into the house without Deb’s knowledge. Mamacitta was an “outdoor” cat, and she never really liked people and would keep her distance. She would, however, get just beyond arm’s reach and petting distance from Deb to supervise Deb’s “cooking” and distribution of dinner for her and her fellow cat companions. Over her lifetime, Mamacitta had two kittens every spring—only two—no more, no less. Mamacitta was bonded to her longtime "boyfriend,” Cooper; they were never apart. Mamacitta and Cooper would walk together with their tails wrapped around each other as if they were holding hands. Deb described it as “one of the most adorable things she has ever witnessed.“ Deb will sadly miss Mamacitta, whom she described as the most consistent thing in her home. In addition to Deb, Mamacitta will be mourned by Cooper and her kittens, Louis, Lord Grey, Little One, and Lil Baby. Deb described her as “the glue that held her little family together.” Arrangements have been entrusted to Always & Furever in Our Hearts Pet Cremation in association with Liming Family Funeral Home, located in Shirley, Indiana. We are honored to serve the family of Mamacitta Spencer.
