Maverick Smith Obituary

Maverick Smith of Rushville, beloved Great Dane and sweet boy of Becky and Greg Smith, passed over the Rainbow Bridge on Saturday, July 19, 2025. Maverick was born in September of 2016 in Knightstown, Indiana.

Maverick brought so much happiness and joy to his new family. Maverick’s family described his personality as “always fun to be around.”

Maverick loved going on car trips and walks with Becky and Greg. He also loved to play fetch with his tennis ball. Maverick did not like baths or being groomed.

Greg relayed the one thing they loved most about Maverick was his personality.

One of their fondest memories of Maverick is when he would walk into the living room with his stuffed toy. He would want to play with them.

Becky and Gregg also referred to their sweet Maverick as “Buddy.” Greg shared that he thought Maverick valued spending time with them on their walks in the park the most in life. Maverick loved both Becky and Greg, but he had a close, special bond with Greg.

Life with Maverick was much happier and sweeter. Maverick will be forever loved and missed; his memory will last forever in Becky and Greg’s hearts. In addition to Becky and Greg, mourning the loss of Maverick is his fur sibling, Molly.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Always & Furever In Our Hearts Pet Cremation in association with Liming Family Funeral Home, located in Shirley, Indiana. We are honored to serve the family of Maverick Smith.
