Meg Summerlot Obituary

Meg Summerlot, age 16, of Marion, Indiana, the sweet girl of Charles and Crystal Summerlot, passed over the Rainbow Bridge on Monday, March 16, 2026.

Meg was born in 2010. Meg found her forever home with the Summerlot family on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, when she was adopted from the Hamilton County Humane Society in Noblesville, Indiana.

Since the day she joined the family, she brought so much joy and happiness to the home with her loving personality. Her family described her personality as “playful and very cuddly, grumpy at times” and ”a lot of fun, gentle, and sweet."

They relayed that what Meg valued most during her time here on Earth was “her human family because she was always there to give cuddles.”

Charles relayed, “She didn't really play with toys, although she really loved spider hands.”

Meg enjoyed going on car rides with her family.

Her family shared their favorite memory of Meg: "Even though she was totally different, she reminded us of a dog we lost in a house fire.”

Meg was very protective over her mama, even when they were just playing around.

She liked her treats, and according to Charles, she wasn’t a picky girl; “Anything we would hand-feed her she loved, even medicine." also noting, "We loved her dance she used to do for treats.”

Additionally, according to his family, after Meg was bathed, “she was so very hyper."

Meg, who her family also lovingly referred to by the nickname of "Megaroni, the San Francisco treat," was a sweet soul and deeply cared for her entire family, but she had a special bond with her human mom, Crystal. Charles shared, "The special person was most definitely her mom. When she was younger, some of her human siblings couldn't even pet her without her getting excited to play. She was very vocal when playing, but when it came to playtime with her mom, she was always so quiet and gentle.”

The entire Summerlot family are absolutely heartbroken by the loss of their sweet girl, Meg touched so many lives and left so many memories during her 16 years as a member of the family. In addition to her human parents, Charles and Crystal Summerlot, she will be forever remembered by human siblings AshLee, Brittany, Jonathon, Alexander, Natalee, Jeremiah, and Brian.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Always & Furever In Our Hearts Pet Cremation in association with Liming Family Funeral Home, located in Shirley, Indiana.
