Mustang Luckette Obituary

Mustang Luckette, beloved Siberian Husky and sweet boy of the Luckette family, of Greenfield, Indiana, passed over the Rainbow Bridge on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at home. Mustang was estimated to be born around 2014 to 2015.

He was adopted in 2016 by the Luckette family. According to his human mom, Nicole, “We adopted him from a family friend who was moving away, and we had space for an extra family member.

“Nicole described Mustang’s personality as ‘sassy, talkative, too smart for his own good, a sweetheart, loyal, and a runner.’”

Mustang brought so much happiness to his new family. Nicole shared what they loved the most about Mustang: “His sass; he talked back to us all the time over everything, and it made us all laugh and smile.”

Nicole recalled memories of Mustang: “The time he stole a whole chicken from off the counter. We caught him red-handed, and he was so shameless about it. He was okay afterwards, but he had a stomach ache” Nicole continued  “There was a time when he broke through our window screen and ran free for a while before we caught him again. He once tried to fight a cat and failed; one little scratch made him run back to us. He stole a whole chicken off the counter twice. He and Rico, our other dog, once fought over a sock for a few minutes before we took it from them. Once he got out right after a heavy snowstorm and ran all the way out of the neighborhood with my sister, Nicole , chasing him.”

Nicole jokingly relayed what she felt Mustang valued most in life: ““Chicken and Snow.”

According to Nicole, Mustang enjoyed car rides, as long as they were not too long. Nicole shared, “Short rides, yes. Long ones, no.”

Nicole also jokingly relayed, “His favorite toy was ‘any type of bone or stuffed animal he could grab,’ and his favorite treats were ‘bacon, chicken, any kind of meat, really.’”

Nicole shared that Mustang did not like baths; stressing, “he hated water.”

Mustang, who the family also referred to by his many nicknames of “Snowdog,” “Menace to Society,” “Husky,” “Must-rat,” “Big Baby,” “Big Cat,” “Escape Artist,” “Winter Dog,” and “Marshmallow” loved his entire family but the entire family knew that he had a special relationship and bond with Nicole who he loved deeply.

Mustang had such a big personality; he will be forever loved and missed, and his sweet memory will last forever in his family’s hearts. In addition to Nicole, mourning the loss of Mustang; is his human dad, Jeremy; human siblings Jessica, Kayla, Xander, Nicole , Bailey, Rinalla, and Amora; and fur sibling, Rico.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Always & Furever In Our Hearts Pet Cremation in association with Liming Family Funeral Home, located in Shirley, Indiana. We are honored to serve the family of Mustang Luckette.
