Nala Simmons, the beautiful orange tabby girl of Amy Cone and Jevon Simmons of Indianapolis, Indiana, unexpectedly passed over the Rainbow Bridge on Sunday, April 6, 2025. When Nala was about 5 or 6 months old, she found her new family. She was wandering around alone in the dark on a cold night and made her way to the front door of Amy and Jevon’s home. Amy and Jevon allowed her into their home; before long, she made her way into their hearts. They described Nala’s personality as playful and loving. Amy recalled favorite memories of how Nala would hide under the bed and then jump out to attack their feet and how she used to love to cuddle up and sleep in the mail basket on the table. You would often find Nala playing with her ball-batting toy or munching on her favorite treats of grilled chicken. As for grooming, Nala enjoyed having her fur brushed. Nala absolutely did not like going on car rides; it was definitely not her thing. She enjoyed going outside, hanging out, and living life, especially with Jevon.
Amy relayed that they felt what she valued most in her life was the time they spent feeding her and all of the love and care they gave her. The one thing Nala’s family loved most about her was the way she always showed people love in return. Although Nala loved everyone, she spent as much time as she could next to her favorite person in the world, Jevon. She was his sweet girl.
Nala, also lovingly known as “Nala Balla,” was a beautiful, sweet soul. Her human parents, Amy and Jevon, loved Nala so very much; she will forever remain in their hearts.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Always & Furever In Our Hearts Pet Cremation in association with Liming Family Funeral Home, located in Shirley, Indiana. We are honored to serve the family of Nala Simmons.
