Nila “Jeannie” Jean (Thalls) Davis

Nila Jean “Jeannie” (Thalls) Davis, aged 65, passed away on Thursday, December 18th 2014 at her residence in Shelbyville, Indiana. She was born on December 27th 1948 in New Castle, Indiana.  She is preceded in death by her parents: Delmar and Martha (Thalls) Carver and husband, Howard “Joe” Steven Davis, whom she married on May 7th 1965.  She is survived by her four loving children, daughters: Sherri Jean Hyatt, Laura Jane (John) Plummer, Lisa Jolene Deane and son: Howard “Joe” Steven Davis all residing in Shelbyville Indiana. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Autumn Nicole Hyatt of Shelbyville Indiana, Andrew Steven Davis of Shelbyville Indiana, Kayla Michelle Adkins of Muncie Indiana, Jarred Michael Plummer of Shelbyville Indiana, Jade Ceira Star Deane and Nakita Cheyenne Frazier, both of Shelbyville, Rebecca Tyanne Davis and Kyle Joseph Davis, both of Wilkinson and Jillian Grace Plummer of Shelbyville Indiana,  Three great grandchildren: Jakob Steven Hyatt of Shelbyville Indiana, Kaden Michael May of Muncie Indiana and Addyson Jo Ruhlman of Shelbyville Indiana. Also surviving are her two loving sisters Linda (Dennis) Westrich of Shirley Indiana and Kathy Cook of Eaton Indiana and loving brother Gary (Jo) Carver of Mooreland Indiana along with several nieces & nephews. Jeannie worked as a school teacher at the Fayette County School Corporation for several years and worked for Atlas Logistics for the last years of her life. Jeannie was a member of the Shirley United Methodist Church and will be greatly missed. 

Visitation will be held from 11:00am-1:00pm, with Funeral Services at 1:00pm on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the Shirley-Wilkinson Community UMC, 309 South Street, Shirley IN 47384 with burial to follow at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson, the Reverend Ben Dilworth officiating.
