Precious Boardman

Precious Boardman, the sweet Chihuahua-Poodle mix girl of Mariah Boardman from Lawrence, Indiana, passed over the Rainbow Bridge on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. 

Precious was born on a farm here in Indiana back in December of 2013. As soon as she was weaned from her mama, she was adopted by Mariah, who, as her human mom, cared for and loved her immensely. 

Precious was a huge part of Mariah’s life. She was her constant companion. 

Mariah described Precious’s personality as a “fun, perky, playful girl” in her prime. 

”Precious had such a loving personality and was an absolutely amazing, adorable girl. 

Precious was a very vocal girl. Mariah shared that what she loved about Precious was “She would sing back ‘I love you if you howled it.”

Precious enjoyed playing in warm clothes fresh out of the dryer and chewing on bones, and she loved when Mariah would give Precious her favorite treat of a juicy hamburger. 

Mariah shared that her favorite memory of Precious was when Mariah would sing “You Are My Sunshine” and Precious would get so excited.

Mariah felt what Precious valued most in her life was the love she felt for Mariah’s grandfather. Mariah relayed, “She loved my grandfather more than anything.”

 Precious, often lovingly referred to as “PeePee” and “Precious Lanell,” had a big heart and brought happiness and joy to Mariah’s life for nearly 13 years. She will forever remain in her heart.
