Princess Miller, the sweet 7-year-old girl of Ashlee and Edward Miller of Rushville, Indiana, passed over the Rainbow Bridge the afternoon of Tuesday, February 18, 2025. In February of 2018, Edward happened to be browsing a Facebook page and came across a post regarding a little puppy who was found wandering alongside the road abandoned at only five weeks old. The post stated the people who found her were trying to find her a permanent home. Edward reached out to the family who found her and said he would take her. He made the drive to Metamora, where she was found. So on March 14 of 2018, Ashlee and Edward decided that they would take this little one and make her a member of their family. They named her “Princess” and gave her a chance for a new life and a loving home. When she arrived, they took her to their local veterinarian to make sure she had all of the necessary immunizations and treatment new puppies need to stay healthy. The veterinarian estimated her date of birth as February 14, which was fitting since she was a sweet little bundle of love. When they first laid eyes on this little one, they thought she had the traits of a Rottweiler, but as she grew older, she grew into a beautiful blend of a mysterious type of dog. It didn’t matter what her pedigree was to the Miller family; this beautiful girl was theirs, and she was absolutely adored. Princess was always a cuddly puppy who loved to snuggle up and cuddle with her loved ones every chance she could. She also liked playing with her favorite toy, which was her toy raccoon. Princess enjoyed her food, but her favorite snack was peanut butter sandwiches, so if you had a peanut butter sandwich, you had to be careful, or you may find it missing to this sweet little peanut butter lover. Princess absolutely did not like bath time. It was what came after her bath that she enjoyed: being brushed and loved on afterwards. Something that Princess did not like was going on car rides; she would pace anxiously around even though she would eventually be happy with the destination she was heading to—the dog park to play. Princess was a complex girl. She enjoyed the outdoors, but only on her terms. Ashlee shared memories of how Princess loved playing in the snow but hated getting her paws wet in the rain-soaked grass. She enjoyed lying outside when it was warm, soaking up the sunshine. Ashlee shared they often called her by her nickname “Baby Girl.” Princess could be like most girls can be, moody and temperamental at times. Ashlee jokingly recalled she had the “temperament of a human,” continuing that she seemed to have a human personality trapped in a dog’s body. Even though she had her “moody moments,” and despite being tossed out as a little pup, she did not let her past keep her from loving unconditionally. Princess had the biggest heart. She was a wise girl and was always welcoming to anyone who came to the Miller home; it was as if she wanted everyone to feel loved and not feel the abandonment she once felt. Her family explained that what Princess valued most in her life was her entire family; she loved being around her family and loved her best friend, her fur brother, Buddy. According to Ashlee, Princess loved the entire family; however, she had a special closeness with her human sister, Alyssa. Princess brought so much joy and happiness to the entire family, and they enjoyed many wonderful years with their sweet girl. Princess will be missed immensely by her human parents, Edward and Ashlee; her human siblings, Alyssa, Avyanna, and Quinton; as well as her fur brother and best friend, Buddy. Arrangements have been entrusted to Always & Furever in Our Hearts Pet Cremation in association with Liming Family Funeral Home, located in Shirley, Indiana. We are honored to serve the family of Princess Miller.
