Reecie Criswell

Reecie Criswell, the beautiful Mini Aussie Doodle boy of Stephanie and Phil Criswell of Spiceland, Indiana, unexpectedly passed over the Rainbow Bridge on Sunday, February 8, 2026. Reecie was adopted from Black Farms in Brookville, Ohio, and was born Sunday, December 18, 2011. The family was so excited to bring this sweet little boy home. 

They described Reecie’s personality as “loving, nosy, curious, and a lover of food.” And their favorite memory regarding Reecie was that he was always waiting at the door when they got home; “he was always close by.”

What they loved most about Reecie was his “hugs.” 

Unlike most pups, Reecie enjoyed bathtime—but he did not like the grooming process. 

Reecie enjoyed playing with tennis balls and squeaker toys; according to his family, “He could get the squeaker out in record time.” 

One of Reecie’s favorite things to do was to go on car rides with his family. He would happily go wherever they would go, as long as he was by their side.

Reecie’s favorite treats were cheese or whatever food his family was eating. 

What Reecie valued most in his life was his family. Reecie felt closest to his human mama, Stephanie, and was very protective over his human sibling, Dru. He was always near one of them around the home. 

Reecie went by the nicknames of “Reecie Roo,” “Roo Roo,” and “Swiper.” He earned one of his nicknames because you had to keep your eyes on your food at all times or he would swipe it. He was a fast boy, so fast that he outran three coyotes, “barely,” that were chasing him. 

In addition to Stephanie and Phil, mourning the loss of Reecie are his human siblings Jack and Dru.
