Robert Lester McGinnis

Robert Lester McGinnis, age 41, of Greenfield, Indiana passed away after a lengthy illness on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at home, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born January 5, 1980 in Greenfield, Indiana, to his parents, Robert "Rob" Lee McGinnis and Judy Ann (Sturgill) McGinnis.
Robert attended Greenfield Central High School. He love all sports and was a big Purdue Boilermakers and Colts football fan. Robert was was formerly employed by Little Construction in Greenfield until becoming permanently disabled. Robert had a love of music, he enjoyed playing guitar, but was especially fond of the "Man in Black, Johnny Cash. Robert also enjoyed fishing, spending time with his daughter, family and his sweet dog, who remained by his side when he left this world.
Robert is survived by his parents Rob (Julie) Mcginnis and Judy Ann (Sturgill) Mcginnis, daughter, Pamela Graham (Jordan Medows) and brothers; Brent (Leslie), Conlan, Grant (Kelsey), Spencer and Tyler. Robert is also survived by his loving companion and friend, his dog "Rocker" of 13 years, Robert is also survived by nephews; Julian McGinnis, Hayden Kottlowski and niece, Molly Swango as well as many other family members and friends. Robert is preceded in death by his beloved dog "Sweetie", his Grandfather William McGinnis, Grandfather Oscar and Grandmother Ollie Sturgill, Aunts; Patricia Neal, Jennifer Sturgill and Uncles; David McGinnis, Tom Sturgill, and Cousin, Raymond McGinnis.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 12th, 2021 from 1pm-3pm with Funeral Service to follow at Liming Family Funeral Home located at 306 Main Street in Shirley, Indiana. The service will be officiated by family friends, Frank and Jeannie Adams from Whitesburg, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Judy (Sturgill) McGinnis to assist with final medical and funeral expenses. A reception will follow the funeral at the Shirley Masonic Lodge located at: 110 Varner Street. Shirley, Indiana 47384 for family and friends to gather and remember Robert.
