Rocco Pegg, the beloved French Bulldog of Heather Pegg of Greenfield, Indiana, passed over the Rainbow Bridge on Monday, July 14, 2025.
Rocco was born on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, in Richmond, Indiana. Rocco officially became a member of the Pegg family after he was adopted by Heather and joined his family the following Memorial Day weekend.
When Heather made the decision to adopt a French Bulldog puppy, the choice she made was one of the very best breeds suited for families—according to The American Kennel Club, the temperament of the French Bulldog is “playful, alert, adaptable, and completely irresistible; their alertness makes them excellent watchdogs. The bright, affectionate Frenchie is a charmer.”
Rocco had the temperament of the traditional breed. Heather described Rocco as having a “sweet, curious, and loving personality.”
Rocco had so many things in his life that he loved.
Heather relayed that Rocco loved to go to the groomer, and he would “prance around with his nose in the air afterwards.”
Rocco’s favorite toy was his many stuffed lambs. Heather shared, “He loved his lambies; he would have them in his mouth to sleep. Playing fetch till he was worn out.”
Rocco loved going bye-bye. According to Heather, “He loved going to his grandpa’s and grandma’s house to play with their six dogs. We always joked it was his vacation home when I was out of town going on car rides.”
Rocco had so many more things in his life that he loved. He wanted nothing more than to receive love. Heather relayed that “he would watch people silently and pay attention to everything they did.”
Rocco loved his cuddles.
Rocco’s favorite snacks were McDonald’s chicken nuggets and potato chips.
Sweet Rocco never met a stranger and loved everyone. He was always trying to sit in Colton’s lap and also to be closer to Chloe since warming up to her. He loved visiting his papaw and grandma Pregg and playing with his six dog friends when he was there. What Rocco loved the most in his life was his family. But his favorite place to be was beside his favorite person, his human mama, Heather. He went with me everywhere he could. Heather relayed that she always joked that she was his emotional support human. “He followed me everywhere and looked for me when I wasn’t there.”
Rocco, whose registered name was “Sid Rocco Firefly,” was also known by the nicknames of “Fat Head,” “Batman,” and “Lil Bit” was loved by his family so much. Heather stressed that “He was such a good dog.”
Rocco will forever be remembered for his immense heart, his loving nature, and the joy he brought to his family. They will miss him dearly but are grateful for the time they got to share with their sweet boy. In addition to Heather, Rocco will be sadly missed by his human family, Chris, Kenny, Colton, and Chloe; his human papaw and grandma Pegg; and their six dogs, Ellie, Bella, Jolene, Sunny, and Emme. Also grieving his loss are Donnie, Lila, and Abby.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Always & Furever in Our Hearts Pet Cremation in association with Liming Family Funeral Home, located in Shirley, Indiana. We are honored to serve the family of Rocco Pegg.
