Ron spent his childhood growing up in Spiceland, Indiana and was a 1957 graduate of Spiceland High School.  After high school, Ron married Nancy (Dudley) and moved to Centerville, Indiana where he resided for over 60 years. Ron was fortunate enough to find love again and he is also survived by his life partner, Sandra "Kay" Pryor, of Pendleton, IN.

Ron retired after many years at Studebaker’s Buick GMC of Richmond, IN, in the Service Part Department to lend his expertise to his daughter's start-up winterization business.  Ron was quite the entrepreneur during his life, owning many of his own businesses. He also owned Pool Mart, A Billiards, Pool & Spa company, and Triple R Contracting in the '90s. Ron was a tinkerer, a fixer, and loved computers. He enjoyed doing auto repairs and home repairs. His faith was based on the Church of God ministry. Ron was an Indianapolis Colts fan, enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles, listening to country music and playing card games.  He loved watching Marshall Matt Dillon on the classic western t.v. show "Gunsmoke" and didn't want to miss an episode.

In addition to his parents and wife, Ron is preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda Lynn Taylor, brothers James “Jim” Garvin and Gerald Garvin, and sister, Bonita "Bonnie" Garvin.
