Ryan Thomas Fletcher

Ryan Thomas Fletcher, age 39, of Shirley, Indiana passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 5, 2022 at Franciscan Health Hospital in Indianapolis. Ryan was born April 8, 1983 in Greenfield, Indiana, to parents Fred and Tina (VanDuyn) Fletcher. Ryan attended Knightstown High School and The Raintree Education Center in New Castle. Ryan was an amateur MMA fighter and was very good in the sport until suffering a career ending injury to his back during a state tournament. Ryan was lovingly acknowledged by his family as being “a Jack of all trades” He liked watching NASCAR and was a big fan of Chase Elliott. Ryan enjoyed playing video games, especially “driving and racing” games. You could always find Ryan riding his motorcycle. It didn’t matter what kind of weather Indiana was having, he was happy to be riding on his motorcycle.  Ryan liked anything and everything to do with being outdoors, especially fishing with his dad at Westwood Lake or Summit Lake. Ryan was a member of the NRA. Ryan was also very artistic and did a lot of tattoo work. His family proudly wears his work. Ryan loved animals, especially his Pit-Husky mix dog Sylva, who Ryan rescued from the Humane Society. Ryan listened to almost all genres of music, from rap to country and classic rock and roll music, with the exception of the band AC/DC, which he absolutely did not like. He liked cereal but really enjoyed his ice cream, with his favorites being Birthday Cake, Unicorn and Sour Pouch flavored ice cream. Ryan truly loved his family and spending time with them, especially the time he spent playing with his little girl.

In addition to his parents, Fred and Tina, left to cherish Ryan’s memory are his lifelong partner, Stacy Medford, daughters; Ryver Renee Jane Fletcher and Kyra Hannon, brothers; Jason (Terri) Fletcher and Aaron (Emily) Fletcher. Also surviving Ryan are his nieces, nephews and many friends. Ryan is preceded in death by his grandparents; Tom and Donna Fletcher, grandfather, William VanDuyn, grandmother, Peggy Faulkner, uncle, David Fletcher and by his beloved dog Sylva. Ryan will be sadly and deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022, from 1pm-3pm with Funeral Service at 3pm at the Liming Family Funeral Home located at 306 Main Street in Shirley, Indiana. The service will be officiated by Senior Pastor Brent Weaver of Kennard Baptist Church.  Family and friends are invited to attend a dinner immediately following the funeral at the Kennard Baptist Church located at: 6931 W County Rd 100 S West, Shirley, IN 47384 to share love and memories of Ryan.
