Sahalie Wagoner of Knightstown, Indiana, an eight-year-old sweet Golden Retriever Mix girl of Chris and Misty Wagoner, crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on Wednesday, November 6, 2024. Sahalie was born in 2016. She was found wandering around the streets of Grove, Oklahoma, as a puppy. Someone found her in their yard, getting into their trash desperately, trying to find something to eat. Luckily for Sahalie, she found her forever home and became a member of the Wagoner family. Sahalie was a furry bundle of happiness and love. She was the most adorable little puppy with her one cute little floppy ear. Right from the beginning, Sahalie was a ball of energy, and that energy continued throughout her eight years. One of Sahalie’s favorite activities was playing chase with her laser light. Like the happy girl that Sahalie was, she loved playing in the water from the garden hose every summer. Misty's favorite memory of Sahalie was when it was just her and Sahalie, Bailey, or Bear outside, watching them play in the water with the garden hose. Sahalie would be snapping at the water spraying out of the hose with her teeth. Misty relayed, “She was so much fun and so crazy." Her human siblings shared their sweet memories of their beloved Sahalie as well.
Aubry’s remembered her favorite of Sahalie was when she and her brothers left the upstairs bedroom window open with no screen and Sahalie went out on the roof!
Colton lovingly recalled his favorite memory of Sahalie was when he would come home from school and she would jump up all the way to his face to give him a big slobbery doggie kiss.
Blaze said his most favorite memory was “lovin' all over her fluffiness.”
Sahalie’s nickname was Sahalynn; her human sister, Aubry called her that one day, and that was her nickname from that day forward.
Sahalie’s human siblings loved her so much, and she absolutely adored them. Sahalie was a big girl but was so gentle with them. When they gave her treats, she would gently take them from their hands. She knew whenever there was a new baby around, she had to be nice and easy. She was extremely loyal and protective of her family. Sahalie was the peacekeeper of the family. When Chris would “play fight” with the children, she would growl at him to “knock it off.” She didn’t allow anything like that to happen without protesting when she was around. Even though she would growl at Chris, it was not threatening. Sahallie loved each and every one of the Wagoner family members; they were all very special to her, but Sahalie’s very favorite thing on this earth was Chris. She was his girl. Sahalie was literally Chris’s shadow. She would walk so close to him that she would step on the back of his shoes at times. She slept beside him every night. When Chris’s alarm clock went off for work each day, Sahalie would immediately get up, knowing that Chris would soon be getting up as well. She would whine anxiously for his attention. Wherever Chris was, that’s where you would find Sahalie. Chris relayed that his favorite memory of Sahalie was when she was always so excited to see him when he got home from work every single day. Sahalie loved her family, and she was incredibly loved by her family. Sahalie went from a desperate, starving pup to a beautiful girl, living the good life in a loving home. Sahalie and her sweet, loving spirit will always be remembered.
In addition to Misty and Chris, mourning the loss of Sahalie are her human siblings, Blaze, Aubry, and Colton, and her human grandmother, Memer. She is also greatly missed by her fur siblings, Scruffy and Bear. Sahalie was welcomed after crossing the Rainbow Bridge by her fur siblings, Dakota and Bailey, who just recently preceded her in death earlier this year on January 20, 2024.
