Salty Steele of New Castle, Indiana, a beautiful black and white cat fur baby of Stephanie Steele, passed over the Rainbow Bridge on Sunday, October 20, 2024. Salty was a stray, wandering around the streets looking for a home. He happened to arrive at the front door of Stephanie’s house on Sunday, October 31st, 2021, meowing loudly, begging to be taken into the house. Into the house he went, and thanks to Stephanie’s three-year-old daughter, Cadence, who longed to have a pet, Salty found his forever home and found his way into the Steele family’s hearts. Salty’s past life was unknown, but Stephanie gave him a safe, loving home. Salty knew he was a fortunate cat and that he was loved. He adored Stephanie; she was his person. Salty would sit upon Stephanie’s shoulder to be near her as she walked around. He would also reach out for Stephanie to pick him up and carry him, which he absolutely loved, especially when he wanted to go downstairs. Salty loved cuddles, lots of pets, and affection. Salty would take his nose and lovingly “boop” you with it. Salty loved to lay on your chest and cuddle, curl up on you, and nap away. Salty would make sure to accompany you when you went to the bathroom, he would jump up on your lap for pets and cuddles to keep you company. Each day Salty would wait for his family by the living window for them to come home from work or school. Salty would stare at his family and anxiously wait until they got inside to pet him. He was definitely a loving boy and did not let his time on the streets change his sweet nature. Salty, who was also known to his family as “Boopsy Boy” and “Parrot Cat,” was a lazy boy who loved taking nice long naps and nibbling on treats, especially raw chicken and pretty much anything Stephanie was cooking. What Salty loved most was Stephanie, who rescued him and gave him unconditional love and a place to call home. Stephanie is absolutely heartbroken by the loss of her gentle, sweet boy. In addition to Stephanie, Salty will lovingly be remembered by his human siblings, Loretta, Ashlynn, and Cadence, and by his fur siblings, his younger cat brother Pepper and cat sister Smokey, little dog sister Marley, and older dog brother Buddy, as well as many other lives Salty touched in his short time here on earth.
