Sassy Walters of Winchester, Indiana; little Maltese Poodle of Joy Walters crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on Sunday, August 4, 2024. Sassy Walters of Winchester, Indiana; little Maltese Poodle of Joy Walters crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on Sunday, August 4, 2024. Sassy was born in 2001 and she was adopted in 2001 by Jeffrey, Joy’s brother. Jeffrey bought Sassy from a local pet shop. The staff at the pet shop said Sassy was two years old. In 2018, Jeffrey had some changes in his living circumstances and asked his sister Joy to take care of Sassy and to also take care of his cat Snickerfritz. Joy stepped up, took the two pets in and gave them a loving home to live in. Sassy enjoyed being outdoors. She loved lying in the sunshine. She didn’t like taking baths inside the house; she wouldn’t hold still. She didn’t mind bathing outside because she could dry in the sun. Sassy liked prancing around and playing in the snow. Sassy was funny. She had the spirit of a 90-year-old lady. If you came to the house for a visit, Sassy would have to come over and inspect you. Even though she couldn’t see very well, she would still find you and give you the once-over. When Joy was away from home for some medical procedures, her daughter, Jennifer, kept an eye on Sassy and Snickerfritz. Jennifer spoiled the pets by letting them live it up, enjoying cheeseburgers and French fries. Even though Sassy earned her name from being feisty and spunky, she loved her fur sibling, Snickerfritz. Snickerfritz loved Sassy in return. They looked out for each other.
In addition to Joy, Sassy will be missed by her human family, Jeffrey Walters, Jennifer and Olivia Lykens and her cat sibling, Snickerfritz.
