Scamp Back

Scamp Back, a 16-year-old Chihuahua from Connersville, Indiana, old boy of Ashley Back, passed over the Rainbow Bridge on Monday, September 23, 2024. Scamp was born on Tuesday, December 9, 2008, and was adopted on Tuesday, February 5, 2008, by Ashley. She discovered this sweet pup after her aunt adopted a chihuahua from one of her coworkers. Ashley decided that she too would like one of the puppies and chose to adopt a sibling. At six weeks old, Scamp was given his forever home by Ashley. From day one, Scamp absolutely adored Ashley, and she became his sole purpose in life and center of attention. He was by her side both day and night. Although he worshiped and adored Ashley, to the rest of the world he was a grumpy boy; he just basically tolerated everyone and everything else. Scamp would, on rare occasions, play with Zelda, one of his fur siblings, basically because she would force him to play with her. He pretty much saw everyone as a deterrent standing between him and his beloved Ashley. He followed Ashley everywhere. His favorite part of the day would be when Ashley would return from work or after leaving the house. Scamp would light up with excitement as soon as he saw her return. 

Scamp was a huge part of Ashley’s life considering Scamp has been in her life for the past sixteen years and they have grown up together. Scamp was Ashley’s greatest companion and best friend, or as she put it, “her soul dog.” Scamp, also known as “Scampers and Shrimp Scampi," hated getting a bath but would reluctantly tolerate them; his favorite part of the bath was the end and being gently rubbed dry with the bath towel. 

Scamp loved to cuddle up with Ashley on her lap or snuggle with her by her side. That is what brought him the most joy in his life. Although Scamp was a grumpy boy, his fur siblings loved this feisty little guy, and in addition to Ashley, mourning the loss of Scamp are his fur siblings, dogs, Stevie, Triton, and Zelda.
