Silas Kramme of Arlington, Indiana, a sweet boy of Christopher Kramme, crossed over the Rainbow Bridge Tuesday, March 25, 2025. Silas was born around 2020 in Christopher’s former home, which is right next door to his current home in Arlington.
Luckily, Silas crossed paths with Christopher, who gave this little kitten a loving home.
Silas settled in well in his new home. Silas, like most cats, enjoyed his sleep time. He loved napping, whether it was on the couch or a chair. He spent just as much of his time sleeping on Christopher’s lap during the day or sleeping on him when he went to bed at night.
According to author Stephanie Dube Dwilson,
“If your cat sleeps cuddled up in your lap during the day or snuggled on your chest or legs at night, it is a sign of love and trust.”
Christopher shared what he loved about Silas was “how sweet he was and how quiet he was.” Silas didn’t have a particular favorite toy; he was content playing with anything.
Silas loved to be scratched behind his ears and having his head rubbed in general.
Christopher shared that he tried to monitor Silas's health by limiting his intake of treats and snacks but relayed that his mom would occasionally spoil Silas with some catnip. Silas absolutely did not like going on car rides.
Silas’s favorite thing above everything else was Christopher; he loved him more than anything. He would often come to Christopher when he was craving attention, even when he was in the middle of a movie or video game. Christopher shared one of his favorite memories was when he was typing for his college schoolwork: “Even while I was trying to focus on the computer screen, Silas came cuddling up to my feet as if to say, Play with me!"
Christopher relayed that Silas was a “rather quiet cat,” which is why he named him Silas because the name sounds like "silence." Continuing, “Silas only ever seemed to meow when he was either hungry or craving attention,” and described his personality as “a cat who was wary of strangers, but one of the sweetest cats anyone ever met once he got used to them.”
In addition to Christopher, Silas, also lovingly known as "Sweet Silas," "Dear, Sweet Silas," and "my dear boy," will also be missed by his human grandmother, Maureen Noble.
