Sophie Rainer, beloved fur baby of Lisa Tipton and Nikki Rainer of Williamsburg, Indiana, crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. Sophie was adopted in June of 2011 in Williamsburg, Indiana. Lisa adopted this beautiful baby girl from someone who was giving away puppies, and Sophie caught Lisa’s eye and eventually stole her heart.
Lisa described Sophie’s personality as extremely stubborn, and what she loved the most about Sophie was that she was a “protector and photogenic."
Sophie was not a fan of going on car rides; she did, however, like being on the car itself. According to Lisa, she would “sit on top of its hood.”
Lisa shared Sophie despised baths and would run even when she was little but enjoyed being brushed or rubbed.
Sophie’s favorite treats were “real bones, knuckle, and femur” and “green sticks”. She generally loved all types of treats with the exception of Beggin’ Strips, which she didn’t care for.
Lisa recalled some of her favorite memories of Sophie: “Stealing a jar of peanut butter from my grandson, opening it up, and eating it on their couch." "The time she came running with the tail of a squirrel in her mouth, I thought she was bleeding; her sister Lucy had the head of the squirrel." and “the time she stole my cup of water while it was sitting on the front porch, as I was mowing, carried it underneath the shade tree, pulled the lid off, and drank it."
Lisa was Sophie’s person; she adored her. Sophie had a big, loving heart and brought happiness and joy to the family for 14 years. Lisa felt what Sophie valued most in her life was freedom, treats, and snacks.
Sophie, or as her family often referred to her as, "Sophia" and ”Sophie Ann," will forever remain in her family's hearts and memories.
In addition to Lisa and Nikki, mourning the loss of Sophie is her human family: Kimmie, Zakk, Jessie, Kelli, Ashley and grandkids Malik, Maya, and Aiden as well as her cat siblings. Sophie was greeted on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge by her furry siblings, Lucy, Sassy, and Buddy, who preceded her in death.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Always & Furever In Our Hearts Pet Cremation in association with Liming Family Funeral Home, located in Shirley, Indiana. We are honored to serve the family of Sophie Rainer.
