Sweetie Wall Obituary

Sweetie Wall, of Rushville, Indiana, age 9, a beautiful tortoiseshell girl belonging to Karey and Doug Wall, passed over the Rainbow Bridge on Friday, June 6, 2025. Sweetie was born in the Carthage area just after the family’s precious Mamaw passed away. Being a dark tortoiseshell, the family considered naming her Hershey. They reconsidered naming her Hershey because as a kitten she didn’t scratch, bite, or claw; she was just the best little girl. Their Mamaw used to greet her loved ones with a welcoming "Hiya,’ Sweetie."

They thought the name "Sweetie" would be very fitting for this darling kitten due to her sweet disposition. It would also be a small tribute in memory of their Mamaw. Karey shared her favorite memory of Sweetie: when her children would cry or be upset, Sweetie was very protective and would come close to check on them.

Sweetie was a tortoiseshell; they are historically known for having a variety of personalities, including being sassy, independent, and loyal. Torties are sometimes called the "divas" of the feline world. They are known for being spunky and independent, and they know what they want. Her family described Sweetie’s personality as “sweet, protective, and sassy.” Karey shared that what the family loved most about Sweetie was that “she often gave us a look as if she was annoyed. We called it her side-eye.”

What her family felt Sweetie valued most in life was cuddles and naps. She wasn’t a picky eater at all and really didn’t have any particular favorite treats. Sweetie definitely was not a fan of being bathed or groomed. She also absolutely did not like going on car rides. Sweetie enjoyed playing and batting at the laser light with her family. Kaey shared a funny memory of how Sweetie taught her cat sibling, Batman, how to stick out her tongue.

Sweetie, who her family referred to by her nicknames of “Sweaty,” “Mamma,” and “Old Lady Cat,” loved everyone but was especially fond of Bekah. Karey was a close runner-up to being Sweeie’s favorite.

The entire family is absolutely heartbroken by the loss of their sweet girl.

In addition to Karey and Doug, Sweetie will be lovingly remembered by her human siblings, Caleb, Nicole, and Bekah, and cat sibling and best buddy, Batman.
