Taco Mercer, a beautiful, sweet bunny from Fortville, Indiana, crossed over the Rainbow Bridge at 1:00 am on Thursday, June 11, 2026.
Taco was born on Wednesday, December 10th, 2025. Taco had been a part of Kalynn's life since Sunday, February 22, 2026, when Kalynn adopted this sweet boy from Uncle Bills, and luckily for Taco, he found his forever home when he caught her eye. From that day forward, Taco was Kalynn’s boy. They were best friends and inseparable.
Kalynn shared what she loved most about Taco: "He's super sweet and loves to snuggle." Additionally, Cathrina recalled her favorite memory of her time with Taco. “On his first day home he was on the bed with Kalynn, and he jumped on her back and nudged her.”
Kalynn shared that what she felt Taco valued most in his life was "getting snuggle time.”
Kalynn described Taco’s personality as "loving, kind, and protective."
Kalynn shared as far as grooming Taco, “Loved to be pampered.”
“He loved going on car rides with the window down," according to Kalynn.
When asked what his favorite object or toy was, Kalynn responded, "paper towel rolls."
She also shared that Taco's “Timothy hay bowls" were his favorite treat.
Taco, who also went by the nickname of "Taquito," was loving towards his entire family, but he had a special closeness towards Kalynn; she was his favorite person, and his favorite animal was his bunny sister, Willow. Cathrina shared, "The first time Willow and Taco met, they ran back and forth along the fence line investigating each other and licking each other; they were besties from the start.”
Taco was loved immensely. This sweet boy filled their hearts with so much joy. In addition to Kalynn, Cathrina, and Andrew, his fur siblings Willow and Chloe are also mourning the loss of sweet Taco, but his sweet spirit and happy memories will remain forever in their hearts.
