Taz Smith of Rushville, beloved long-haired calico girl of Becky and Greg Smith, passed over the Rainbow Bridge on Monday, December 1, 2025. Taz was born in October of 2006, and she was adopted from their great niece, River.
Taz brought so much happiness and joy to her new family. Taz’s family described her personality as “feisty.”
Taz did not like car rides or going on car trips. Taz absolutely did not like baths or being groomed; according to Greg, the answer was a big Noooooo.
One of their favorite memories of Taz is “when we tried to introduce her to a halter and leash, she played dead.”
Taz loved playing with a string on one of Greg's fishing poles, and she also played fetch with her miniature red rubber ball.
Taz’s favorite treats were tasty licks of Cool Whip and ice cream.
Greg relayed the one thing they loved most about Taz was how “she loved being on Becky's lap after she got home from work.”
Becky and Gregg also referred to their sweet Taz as “the little devil.” Greg shared that he thought what Taz valued most was “having the whole house to herself until Mav and Molly came to live with us.”
Taz loved both Becky and Greg. According to Greg, “Taz was closer to Greg when she was little and Becky when she got older and wanted her lap.”
Life with Taz was much happier and sweeter. Taz will be forever loved and missed; her memory will last forever in Becky and Greg’s hearts. In addition to Becky and Greg, mourning the loss of Taz is her fur sibling, Molly.
Taz is preceded in death by her fur dog brother Maverick, who was waiting to greet Taz as she crossed over the Rainbow Bridge.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Always & Furever In Our Hearts Pet Cremation in association with Liming Family Funeral Home, located in Shirley, Indiana. We are honored to serve the family of Taz Smith.
