Tigger Proctor

Tigger Proctor, the handsome 20-year-old tabby fur baby of Sarah Proctor's from Fairland, Indiana, passed over the Rainbow Bridge Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. 

Tigger had been a part of Sarah's life since Friday, May 5, 2006, when Sarah adopted this sweet boy from the Shelbyville Animal Shelter. Out of all of the animals at the shelter, Tigger won Sarah heart and found his forever home. From that day forward, Tigger was Sarah’s boy. Sarah described Tigger’s personality as “very loving and caring." "He loved to play but wouldn't hurt a fly.”

When asked what his favorite object or toy was, Sarah recalled, “His favorite object was probably blankets. You could always find him on a blanket.”

Sarah shared what she loved most about Tigger: "One thing I loved about him is he could tell when people weren't feeling good and would be attached to them until they felt better." She additionally recalled her favorite memory of her time with Tigger. “My favorite memory of him was finding him asleep in a baby doll car seat when he was small. He always found odd spots to sleep in.” 

Sarah also shared, “A funny story about Tigger was anytime there were birds or things flying on the TV, he would try to chase them. He would just paw at the TV and wouldn't leave it alone until whatever was on the TV was gone. Sometimes he would sit at the TV and wait for it to come back.”

Like most cats, Tigger hated getting a bath. Sarah shared, “He did not like bath time or being groomed. He would meow the whole time and run away if you didn't have a good grip on him.”

He absolutely did not care for car rides, according to Sarah. “He did not like car rides at all. He would meow the whole time and pace around the car looking out the windows.”

Sarah shared that what she felt Tigger valued most in his life was "cuddling." 

She also shared that Tigger’s favorite snack or treat was definitely cheese. He would try to eat it off your plate if he had the opportunity.” 

Tigger, who also went by the nickname of "Tig,” was loving towards his entire family. Sarah relayed, "He wasn't really attached to one person, but if anyone was lying down, he would go cuddle with them immediately, and if anyone was sitting down, he would try to sit in their lap.”

The home will never be the same without Tigger, who was loved and will be missed so much, but his precious memories will remain. 

Tigger was greeted crossing the Rainbow Bridge by his cat sibling, Fieval, who crossed in 2019. Sarah relayed, “Fiveal was a huge part of Tigger's life and was his big brother who sometimes acted like his father. Many times we would find them cuddled up together or Fiveal pinning Tigger down to give him a bath.”
