Timber Burgdoefer, the handsome pit bull mix of Geraldine Burgdoefer and the late Richard Burgdoefer from Lawrence, Indiana, passed over the Rainbow Bridge unexpectedly on Thursday, March 19, 2026.
Timber was born in Martinsville, Indiana, on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, and Geraldine adopted him from the parent of one of the children she babysat for.
What Geraldine recalled they loved the most about Timber was “how he loved the family; he was so sweet and protective.”
Timber didn’t like bath time; when he heard the word "bath," he would, according to Geraldine, "shake all over," but he did like being brushed and groomed after being bathed.
What Timber enjoyed was riding in the car and playing with his favorite toy, his rope for playing tug of war.
Geraldine shared that Timber’s favorite snack was “peanut butter sandwiches." Geraldine recalled how Timber would try to get out of eating his peas, ”his dog food." He would spit the peas out, and I would tell him no treats until he ate his peas, and he would.
Geraldine described Timber’s personality as “loving” and "whiny." Geraldine shared her favorite memory of Timber: “Being playful and running around and acting crazy like this family is.”
Geraldine felt what he valued the most in his life was his family, and Timber had a special bond with Tony and his human dad.
Timber, who was also sweetly referred to as “Mr. Wiggle Butt,", "Timmy,", "Tim-Tim," and “Big Hoss," was loved so much, and his big heart will be missed immensely. In addition to Geraldine, mourning the loss of Timber is Ricky Burgdoefer, Spencer Burgdoefer, Anthony Burgdoefer, Mary Rose Burgdoefer, Albert Burgdoefer, Barbara Woodruff, Shy Salmons, Charity Reed, and fur siblings Tansey, Bug, Aster, Apollo, and Cosmo. Timber is preceded in death by his fur siblings Deathwish, Big Foot, Ellie, Ringo, Daisy, and Butterscotch, who greeted him on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Always & Furever in Our Hearts Pet Cremation in association with Liming Family Funeral Home, located in Shirley, Indiana. We are honored to serve the family of Timber Burgdoefer.
